Oregon’s Libraries & Community Anchor Institutions (CAIs)

Oregon’s Community Anchor Institutions (CAIs) such as libraries, museums, senior centers, and recreation centers play a vital role in fostering healthy, vibrant communities across the state, often going above and beyond their stated charters to help bridge the digital divide.

eduroam

Link Oregon is the Support Organization in Oregon for eduroam for State Libraries and Public/Non-profit Museums in Oregon.

From email to job searches and applications to information about Government-funded public services, anchor institutions attract and serve diverse populations with distinct needs. For many, free and reliable broadband access at these institutions is a lifeline to their surrounding communities, institutions and related services. For students with limited or no Internet connectivity at home, community institutions such as public libraries offering free Wi-fi/internet connectivity serve as critical anchors for student success.

Link Oregon values the role these institutions play and is committed to serving them by delivering broadband access that is fast, reliable and secure. As the sole Support Organization in Oregon for eduroam, the national authenticated Wi-fi service from Internet2, we can also offer first line of support to set up and support this free service, enabling all students at these anchor institutions to use their home school credentials to log in.

If you are a public library, museum or any other community anchor institution in Oregon, contact us to learn more about how our secure broadband connectivity services can help you better serve your staff and visitors.
