The Network for Education and Research in Oregon—known as NERO—has now joined Link Oregon. NERO began as a research project under the auspices of the Oregon Joint Graduate Schools of Engineering. Its purpose is the development of high speed wide-area network connectivity to further the interests of education and research in Oregon. Link Oregon will continue to provide networking services to higher education institutions, K-12 schools, local and state government, and municipalities, and will extend those services to Native Tribes, public health organizations, libraries and select non-profit groups.
